Sophie Mackin

BIOGRAPHY
Sophie's passion for dance and performing started at an early age of 4 when she started singing, tap and jazz. In 2004 Sophie moved to The Dance Collective to explore the styles of jazz and contemporary. As a hardworking, performing stand-out in 2006 Sophie was award The Dance Collectives Jazz Scholarship. Sophie was selected to perform in the Performing Arts Perspective in 2013 for her high results in the WACE subject of Dance. To extend herself as a dancer and performer, Sophie has trained with world class artists and continues to broaden her experience and love of dance. In the last few years Sophie has established herself as a professional performer in Perth. Her performances include dancing for Guy Sebastian- Perth Hopman Cup Ball (Jan 2015), Oasis Ball & Campaign Brief Aways (2015), REIWA Ball (2014), Fire Ball (2014), Variety of Chefs Ball (2014), St John of God Ambulance Ball (2014) and Interpeople Charity Ball (2014). Sophie has a passion for working with teens as she has been teaching dance for 4 years and this year started working part-time as a Youth Counsellor for children aged 8-16. Sophie is trained in lyrical, jazz, contemporary and ballet. Sophie holds a BSc (University of Western Australia) and BPsych (Curtin University) and in 2017 will be completing a Graduate Diploma in School Psychology (University of Western Australia).
