Charlotte was introduced to Hip Hop when she joined The Dance Collective in 2014. From there she met people who showed her the ropes in different forms and styles of dance which lead her to discover a whole world of opportunities. This allowed her to develop the confidence and drive to join her first Hip Hop crew in 2015, The Society, which took her to Hip Hop Internationals in San Diego. It was in Los Angeles that she took classes from a number of world-renowned choreographers such as Scott Forsyth, Lyle Beniga, Markus Pe Benito, Brandon Dumlao and a number of others. In 2015 Charlotte also competed at Battlegrounds as a part of Canvas. In 2016, Charlotte joined a new crew, Asylum, who competed in and won Battlegrounds 2016 as well as Elite 2016. Charlotte’s choreography is influenced by her background in Ballroom Dancing, Soccer and Tap Dancing, as she incorporates a lot of footwork and speed into her movements. This year, Charlotte’s aim is to bring a new understanding of dance to the younger generation, build a passion and love for dance that TDC originally introduced her to and to uphold the widespread support and friendship that TDC has had since she joined.
